The most curated, hand-tested English romset for the Nintendo 64 game console Ah, the Nintendo Reviewer: dudebuddyguy - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - January 1, Subject: Works just fine ZIP download worked fine. If so, pretty neat. Reviewer: cartoonie - favorite favorite favorite - September 20, Subject: help i would like to get this file but whenever I try to get it file. Anybody heard this? But now they have been using their own gamefile format for 4 years now. They have recently have updated to version 4 with games.
Thanks for confirming it. This collection contains more that game images! This is the reason the Blast from the Past isn't supported anymore. This collection IS the past! At what point do D64 files stop being the past? At what point does retro gaming stop being the past for that matter? Surely all games that are based in the past become 'current' only when you play them again? The Blast Collection is very incomplete if you compare it with the Gamebase Collection and will never be updated.
The Gamebase Collection is still growing. The current online version is recently upgraded from V03 to V After some technical issues are solved, version V04 will become available for download on e-mule.
You will not be disappointed! I don't want to download zips to unzip individually and once unzipped, like on the site you mentioned, they just become individual games like all other files on all other sites. My point was that I don't understand why the blast collection could not have continued to be supported.
I am sure it has something to do with that four CD pack listed above that gamebase put up for sale for money. Let's face it, the blast collection became famous because of its automatic use by Gamebase It was a very easy way to have quick and easy access to 1,s C64 files through the Gamebase front end.
Now that that relationship has ended I don't see any point for the blast collection. And by the way, I am not going to download over a gig of files in order to have many many games I am not going to play.
It is a choice that the Gamebase64 team has made. As the Blast Collection had too much limits for the GB64 team, they decided to build a collection themself. You are right. The Blast Collection was a very nice collection, but doesn't have any advantages compared with the GB64 Collection ok, maybe its size.
But nobody forbids you to use the old software in combination with the Blast Collection. The old Gamebase that works with the Blast Collection can still be downloaded from here.
Use this version if you feel more comfortable with it. It's your choice.
